There are so many hosting companies available to you nowadays. So how do you pick one? I wanted to remind you of three elements that you must look for when choosing a hosting company.
The three elements to look for are:
- Uptime Reliability. Make sure that the company you are looking at has high uptime reliability. (They should be around 99%). This is important because you want to be sure that your website is going to be available 24/7 even in the event of a power failure or disaster. Also, don’t forget to ask how they handle website backups just in case something would happen.
- Monitoring and Security. Inquire what steps are in place to monitor your site and ensure your online assets are protected from worms, hacking, power outages, hard drive failures, etc. You want to be told that they have a team dedicated to monitoring this!
- Technical Support. Find out what type of technical support the company offers. What type of support do they offer outside of business hours? Who could you call if you noticed at 3AM that your site was down?
